TLOD Experience
I have dedicated nearly 15 years to enhancing my understanding of TLOD's history, policies, and procedures. Actively participating in Local, Area, and National conferences, I have attended workshops on various topics such the Top Teens of America Program, Financial Preparedness, “The TLOD Way”, Sisterhood and Leadership and parliamentary procedures.
In my current role as the 2nd Vice President, I work alongside the 1st Vice President to support program chairs, project chairs, and the President, ensuring effective program execution and timely reporting. Together, we developed a system for committee chair training, conducted regular check-ins, and created a program of work calendar during our retreat. Our collaboration has streamlined the reporting process and provided more support for the chairs. I have also coordinated chapter training sessions with 13th Past National President, Lady Drema Lee Woldman and National 2nd Vice President, Lady Kendra Gillespie. In order to ensure the Chapter has the most up to date information from our National Leadership, I regularly participate in the 2nd VP Quarterly and "Winning with Wisdom" Wednesday meetings led by Lady Kendra Gillespie and Lady Jackquline Wilcher. I invited the chapter chairs to participate in these meeting and shared the 2nd to None Chronicles.
During my tenure as the Area II TTA Advisor (2019-2023), the Area II TTA Executive Board Liaison position was created to give our young leaders additional training and support. In an effort to foster collaboration among the chapters, I coordinated the first Area II St. Jude Walk and Area II TTA Dave & Buster's outings. I implemented a system for TTA Advisor mentorship and conducted a TTA Bootcamp for Chapter Advisors and Presidents. I visited other area conferences to exchange ideas and identify benchmarks for improvement.
While serving as Membership Chair in 2023, I initiated efforts to strengthen sisterhood in the chapter through the establishment of "meet-ups" and the formation of Jewel Teams. The Chapter's "Flat Lady" initiative was recognized at the Area and National levels, and we successfully met our retention and reactivation goals that year.
In the previous administration, I served as both 1st and 2nd Vice President, where I helped establish educational Chapter Chat & Chew Sessions to share operational information and enhance our chapter's TLOD knowledge. These sessions included new member training and committee chair working sessions.
